MY EUROPEAN TEACHING TOUR OCTOBER 2015

I am so grateful to my hosts for this trip. Allesandra DiPamprano, Catarina Cortellini, Piero Vivarellli, Alberto Vezanni, Rosi Babbit and Sabine Freitag. I landed in Milano, Italy and was greated by Alle. She picked me up at the airport and put me up in a sweet family apartment near her own house. Arriving a day early allowed us to do some sightseeing in Milan before my teaching intensive weekend launched. I arrived on Wednesday and was able to take class with Ale and meet her lovely students. We saw the Duomo in Milan, a wonder of Gothic architecture. I taught a lovely group of Alle’s students on Thursday evening.

We jumped on the 300 mile an hour fast train to Bologna arriving in an hour! It is like being back on the Shinkanzen in Japan. Caterina met Alle and I at the train station and invited us to her lovely home for lunch. Delicious food, gracious hospitality and great company from the Italian kula.

Piero hosted a meeting of the Italian teachers in his studio that afternoon followed by my workshop. 42 enthusiastic Italian yogis incluing teachers practiced and celebrated together. Dinner was at 10:00pm. Slightly off my Ayurvedic eating plan but well worth the deviation from my regular schedule of early lighter dinners!!
Alberto took us to Regio Emilia that night to prepare for the weekend workshop with his students and kula. We had a 3 days of great workshops sampling the great parmesian cheese and procuitto from this area. Alberto is a meditator and we got to meditate every day in his shakti filled mediation room. Wow! Am I lucky or what? Lots of teachers and students are interested in Anusara® Yoga in Italy. I am so grateful to the teachers who have kept it alive and growing!!

Rosi Babbit, a student and graduate of the World Yoga Center Teacher Training, came to pick me up and drive me to Locarno, Switzerland, my next stop. We stopped to see Lake Como on the way. This area is breathtakingly beautiful. We stopped for gnocchi in a small cafe and drove on to Rosi’s gorgeous house on Lake Maggiore. I had a day off to organize myself, take Rosi’s class and go for a hike in the Mountains. A group of Rosi’s friends, her husband Jim, and their sweet little Yorkie Ralphie went on a very vigorous hike to Europe’s longest foot bridge. That night I taught a workshop for 28 of Rosi’s students. What great spirits and big hearts!

Jim drove me back to Milan on Thursday to catch a plane to Frankfurt to meet my last host Sabine Freitag. Sabine picked me up at the airport and drove to her sweet house that was converted from a barn in Mainz, Germany. We had time for an excursion into Mainz to see the Rhein, to visit the farmer’s market, pick up some great veggies for my green smoothies and have a coffee. Sabine is a wonderful cook and provided me with delicious homemade soups and special local dishes during my stay. Sabine works in a gym in Neider-olm. it is alovely facility with very dedicated sudents and teachers. I led a teacher’s intensive on Heart Theming and workshops for students and teachers. Sabine and her sweet boy friend, Markus welcomed me into their lovely home and hearts.
